Third shift CSR 3 (May 30th – June 5th)
How was the cruise on board the research vessel “Pelagos” in the cetacean Sanctuary, NW Mediterranean? Here are a few highlights from the week.
A nice pod of bottlenose dolphins was spotted by the team on board the research vessel “Pelagos”, now cruising in italian and french waters; among them were two adults with big white patches on their dorsal fins and flukes.
Researchers and participants on board of “Pelagos”, in the NW Mediterranean, just spotted a beautiful large turtle Caretta caretta.
During a visit at the Oceanographic Museum in Monaco researchers and participants came across a whale made of ghost nets (dismissed fishing nets illegally abandoned at sea in which marine mammals and many other animals die).
And one additional dolphin has been spotted by the crew…
