Cetacean Sanctuary Research: dates and fees

Fin here trip dates and fees. Cruises are dedicated to study and watch whales and dolphins in Italy, in the Pelagos Sanctuary. Discounts will be available for those joining for more than one course and for students.

The team CSR 20 (23 – 29 September 2024), is available at a special fee (700 Euro). If interested please book or send a mail as soon as possible to tethys@tethys.org or contact us. Places will be assigned on a first come – first served basis.

University students get discounted fees for most departure dates (see below), and can possibly obtain tuition credits  (e.g. ECTS).

Tax deduction

The participation fee is a donation to the institute and may be tax deductible in several countries

What’s included

  • Food and beverages  (breakfast, lunch and dinner, except for alcoholic and soft drinks) for the duration of the cruise, except for the dinner at a restaurant in town  the day of the arrival

  • Accommodation on board

  • Mooring expenses in Sanremo Portosole harbour

  • Electricity, water heating and cooking costs

  • Fuel for boat and dinghy

  • Lectures and training by Tethys researchers

  • Scientific supervision

  • Certificate of participation in the Cetacean Sanctuary Research

What’s not included

  • Travel expenses to and from Sanremo

  • Mooring expenses outside of Portosole (approximately €80-100 per night, to be divided by all the crew with the exception of the skipper). It applies only occasionally

  • Personal expenses (telephone, souvenirs, etc.)

  • Soft drinks, liquors and spirits (beer, wine, etc.)
