COVID-19 EMERGENCY – UPDATE May 4th, 2020
The Cetacean Sanctuary Research project (CSR), based in Sanremo, Italy, was forced to cancel the first five teams (from CSR1 to CSR5), postponing the start of research cruises to June 29th.
Those participants affected by such cancellation is offered one of the following options:
change their participation dates for any of the remaining teams;
request a voucher for participating in the same project in 2021;
request a full refund of their participation fee.
The help and support from our volunteers are key for the success of the CSR. Therefore, we encourage those affected by this cancellation to go for the first option and make arrangements to join us in any of the remaining places in teams CSR6 – CSR19; see different possibilities available here below.
The italian government is gradually lifting the measures taken to halt the spread of Covid-19 and guiding the country to its normal state. The different stages of lifting the lockdown will be progressively executed during the next couple of months.
During the current Covid-19 pandemic our priority at Tethys Research Institute is to ensure health and safety for both participants and the staff of our research projects. Therefore the research boat “Pelagos” will in any case be equipped with a thermoscan and a complete ozone-sanitizing will be performed by means of a professional device SANY MED 80 at each change of team.
We acknowledge that these are difficult times for everyone and we all have an important part to play in this crisis, so stay safe, stay healthy, stay strong!
Do not hesitate to contact us for any question and for support. Thank you for understanding.
